The site overlooks Portland Harbour, and is found below the main entrance to the Verne Citadel

To reach it follow Verne Common Road through and just past the housing estate to a track running left downhill. From this point the cemetery can be clearly seen. It is divided into three parts, Church of England, Roman Catholic and Non-Conformist, and contains war graves of both World Wars.

#

Locally know as the Pirates' Graveyard due to the skull and crossbone motifs on some of the graves.

St Andrews was Portland's first Parish Church. Situated above Church Ope Cove, there are beautiful views across to the cliffs of Purbeck.

Since taking over the Weston road cemetery in 2019 PTC has sought to improve the maintenance area in the North West Corner by planting a screening hedge and replacing the ramshackle collection of storage boxes and shed with one fit for purpose shed. The cemetery has been regularly maintained.
