Portland Town Council has been serving the local community for over 50 years.
Our open and friendly council aim to support the community in all we do. We strive to do our best for the people of Portland and to protect our unique history, heritage, and environment.
The council is made up of 14 elected representatives and 10 staff members. The councillors – who are elected but do not get paid or receive expenses – do what they do for the love of the island. Our councillors often take on imaginative and ambitious projects for the benefit of Portlanders. These projects include setting up a Portland Youth Council and the creation of the Portland Community Venue, among many others.
Our offices on Three Yards Close are open Monday to Thursday, 10am – 3pm. Office staff are available during this time to answer your queries.
