You may be eligible for a £200 Alternative Fuels Payment (AFP)
The government has given more details on another scheme to help with the cost of living with a £200 Alternative Fuels Payment. You may be eligible for this payment if:
• you use alternative fuels as your main form of heating
• your household is not connected to the mains gas grid
Most homes that are eligible for the Alternative Fuels Payment will get it automatically via their electricity supplier. Those who do not have a direct relationship with an energy supplier will need to apply for the Alternative Fuels Payment (Alternative Funding) scheme by searching “Apply for energy bill support if you do not get it automatically” into the GOV.UK webpage search bar.
The Alternative Fuels Payment (Alternative Funding) Scheme is expected to open Monday 6 March.
For those unable to use the internet to apply or for any enquiries, the government have set up a helpline on 0808 175 3287 open Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm.
Energy Bills Support Scheme Alternative Funding is now open for application
The government’s Energy Bills Support Scheme Alternative Funding (EBSS Alternative Funding) is now open for applications. The EBSS Alternative Funding is a payment of £400 to households who do not have a direct relationship with an energy supplier and therefore were unable to previously receive it. This includes residents living in park homes, houseboats or off the electricity grid or who pay for their energy through a landlord, housing manager or site owner. Applications can be made through an online form on the government website
