Precept

Portland Town Council derives most of its income from the Precept it sets each year.

Weymouth & Portland Borough Council is responsible for collecting Council Tax in the local area.  The Council Tax bill is actually the total of five separate bills raised by: Dorset County Council, Weymouth & Portland Borough Council, Dorset Fire & Rescue Service, Dorset Police and Portland Town Council

The Freedom of Information Act (Model Publication Scheme 2008), requires all council to make at least two years worth of full accounts available on the website.
